You it's you

about

This is a song from the sessions back in winter of 1997 in the rehearsalroom of MaryBeatsJane.
I've written so many songs about suicide over the years. The sense of not being enough, worthlessness, hopelessness and a deep feeling of being unwanted. Growing older I suppose I've come to terms with it, understanding that there actually are people who love as much I love them. But society as such is a fucking shithole, and I say that with no avarice. It just is. We learn to idolize and nurture unrealistic images of people and concepts, but that, at the same, it's OK to not really give a shit, other than in words. Air in motion. Empathy, and solidarity are merely "nice things" to talk about and agreeing upon, as an alibi to the shit we subject ourselves daily. The sense of powerlessness, and double standards saturating everything and everyone.
